Somehow I forced myself to get up really early to beat the crowds. I'm sure Saturdays at National Parks are crazy after all. I think that I entered the park at a quarter to seven. There was no one around. I was able to set up my tripods and try for some self-portraits.
I didn't turn around in time!
There are more equally bad self-portraits, but I'm too tired to upload and crop and what not. I'll spare myself the embarrassment.
I was literally the only person hiking to Delicate Arch it seems until I passed two groups on my way up. I didn't realize that I was that fast. I'm a warrior.
Definitely glad that I got up early to see this. I passed easily over 100 people on my way back down. They would have been in all the pictures had I tarried an hour in the morning.
This is one of those things that you see in photographs all the time. But it is nothing like seeing it in person. I have the perfect analogy to explain it, but won't be putting out in a public blog.
Now I think that I'll head over and check out Zion.
